Welcome
on the website of Stichting Doopsgezinde Monumenten in Friesland Northwest Friesland is the home of Menno Simons and the Mennonites. Many traces can still be found. Sometimes literally very well hidden, as the Mennonites used to build small conventicles in the past. In order to make this "invisible" history accessible, in 2008 a number of routes have been developed, so that you can discover by car, bicycle or on foot this part of the history of beautiful Northwest Friesland.
